It was originally owned by [[Enderal:Raaijlas Davuul|Raaijlas Davuul]] and his company, the [[Enderal:Blue Islands Coalition|Blue Islands Coalition]], but it was sold to [[Enderal:Maél Dal'Loran|Maél Dal'Loran]] and his company, the [[Enderal:Golden Sickle|Golden Sickle]], sometime during the Kiléan Civil War. After the war ended, the Coalition contacted the Sickle in order to purchase the idol back, an event which is explored in the Golden Sickle [[Enderal:Faction Quests|Faction Quest]].

== Value ==
The exact value of the artifact is never revealed, as most will simply say “a lot” or “a considerable amount”. Siding with Dijaam during the questline and then refusing to give her the idol will let [[Enderal:The Prophet|The Prophet]] obtain it, albeit illegally. Selling the idol to a black market fence yields a mere 650 [[Enderal:Endralean Penny Coin|Pennies]], which, according to the interaction with the vendor, is nowhere near the actual value of the artifact. Siding with Maél during the questline will allow the transaction between the factions to complete, and, in a later scene, an Apothecarius will mention that Maél has donated 50 000 pennies to the Pest House. Given that the Coalition offered an extra 10 thousand pennies to make up for Dijaam's actions, it can be safe to assume that the Scarabeus is worth at least 40 000 pennies.
