Description

Tyrael, though perhaps not strictly speaking a “Boss” character nor an Easter Egg, is worth mentioning nonetheless. As you pass through the burned-out village of Nehrim:Mortram, Tyrael is located in the ruins of the only farmstead on the north side of the road.

At first, he appears to be a simple skeleton lying in the ruins, but “activating” him, in an effort to check his inventory, will cause him to become animated and attack! Once defeated, he lies motionless, but if you attempt to check his inventory again, he once again rises and attacks! He will do this endlessly while he remains in the game, and, as a result, is a good resource for practicing blocking and your various attacking skills.

Fun Tip

If you have a very high sneak skill or can become invisible with a spell or potion, in between the moment you activate him and the moment he would see you, he will not notice you and instead begin running around the ruins of Mortram killing the chickens or any other enemy that is not in the same faction that he sees.

Notes

  • Upon first activation and defeat of Tyrael, his corpse will be removed from the game after 3 in-game days, due to being labeled as non-persistent.
  • His corpse (up to the first activation) is a quest item. Once he becomes activated, he no longer has any flags and will eventually disappear.
  • See Nehrim:Skeleton (Dead) for normal dead skeletons.
