Description

According to Porim, Shadow Song Mine used to be one of the largest mines in the whole country. Now there is nothing more to be mined and only a few miners remain. The mine was supposed to be deserted, however, over time it became infested with numerous dangerous creatures.

The whole mine consists of eight levels, of which only the first six levels are connected to the prologue of the Main quest; that being the process of exiting the mine. All eight levels take place during Shadow and Light, as the quest itself doesn't end until you reach Tirin Abbey and speak to High Priest Aratornias. Levels 7 & 8 are also part of Journey to the Abbey, which is a Nehrim:subquest that takes place during Shadow and Light, that contains 3 additional main subquests.

Level 7 is connected to the Main quest Under Siege and Level 8 Work in the Mine. They have separate entrances. The entrance to level 7 is from Shadow Song Mine, Upper Entrance and the entrance to Level 8 is from Shadow Song Mine Site. From Level 7 are the door that leads to Level 5. In level 4 is an building Rotten Barrel Tavern with some loot and beds for rest.

Differences between Classic Nehrim and Digital Versions (Steam/GOG)

Some new content has been added to the digital versions that can't be found in the classic version. This content is comprised of small areas within the cells themselves that contain some loot. The in-game map itself does not change due to these new additions.

Part 1: The path is slightly different from the classic version.

Part 2: There is a cutout in the shaft where the waterfall is, leading to a textbook.

Part 3: The gondola sequence seems shorter, especially with the part with Hirre.
